Antique Friedrich Reusswig Hanau 800 Silver Repousse Putti Vanity Box 254 g

Exceptional antique German 800 silver fitted vanity/manicure box by Friedrich Reusswig of Hanau, Germany, dating to the early 20th century, approximately 1903–1926.

The box is richly decorated in the Hanau Historicist/Neo-Rococo tradition with an elaborate repoussé figural scene of putti/children in a garden landscape, surrounded by scrolling foliage, flowers and ornate Rococo-style borders.

The underside bears the 800 silver fineness mark along with German silver hallmarks and the crowned “R” maker's mark associated with Friedrich Reusswig.

The fitted interior retains aged fabric/velvet lining, storage pockets and four narrow fitted openings that originally accommodated small implements. The original accessories are not included.
